St. Jude Social Services
“For I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me drink, a stranger and you welcomed me, naked and you clothed me, ill and you cared for me, in prison and you visited me.” -Matthew 25:40
St. Jude Social Services serves a wide variety of the disadvantaged members of our community by providing food and clothing assistance. All services are provided with dignity and respect and stress the need for the recipients to ultimately learn to help themselves.
- As part of our Outreach program, members of our staff regularly visit the homes of those in need, providing understanding, encouragement and friendship.
- Food is provided for an average of 1,000 individuals per month. In the year 2015, we fed 10,500 people with 132,000 pounds of food. Additionally, we opened our new Soup Kitchen where we serve a hot breakfast every Saturday morning to those in need.
- In addition to a small staff, members from St. Jude Church volunteer their time weekly to assist us in meeting these various needs.
